Beyond Basketball
-
Crossovers & Conversations was started by a physician who believes that learning about health is just as important as playing the game. That’s why our camps combine high-level basketball training with real conversations about health and wellness—led by doctors and health professionals. We talk about things like mental health, imposter syndrome, injury prevention, consent, decision making, nutrition, substance use, and CPR.
After our mental health session, 92% of participants said they felt more comfortable talking about their mental health, 92% learned helpful ways to handle stress, and 96% said they’d be more likely to ask for help if they were struggling. These conversations help players grow stronger—not just on the court, but in life.

At Crossovers & Conversations, mentorship happens naturally. We invest in our athletes both on and off the court, taking the time to learn their goals, passions, and challenges. Our unique team of coaches—including physicians and professionals from a range of fields—are committed to pouring into the lives of youth, offering encouragement, guidance, and regular check-ins. Whether it's through a conversation after practice or ongoing support beyond camp, we’re here to help each young person reach their full potential.
Within the next year, we hope to launch an official mentorship program between our athletes and coaches.

Many of our participants dream of attending college—with or without athletics. In response, we’re developing a college readiness program designed to help student-athletes navigate the path to higher education with clarity and confidence. From identifying the right schools to understanding application timelines, financial aid, and NCAA eligibility, we guide teens every step of the way. Led by an executive board member with deep expertise in NCAA compliance, this program is set to launch within the next year—ensuring students are not only college-bound, but college-prepared.

Our Lunch-and-Learn Series introduces teens to diverse paths through guest speakers, hands-on activities, and real-world insights from professionals in fields like sports medicine, business, media, education, entrepreneurship, and more. Whether students plan to pursue athletics or another passion, we help them discover their strengths, explore interests, and start thinking about a future they can be proud of.
